Embrace the Future: Enterprise-Foreign Talent Matching Platform Program

CrossBond is honored to collaborate with the New Taipei City Government to host the "Enterprise-Foreign Talent Matching Platform Program" This event focused on two main themes: "Retention of International Students in Taiwan" and "Employment of International Talents in Taiwan." We invited representatives from central governments such as the National Development Council, Overseas Community Affairs Council, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Economic Affairs, National Immigration Agency, as well as representatives from New Taipei City enterprises, to share some information and practical experiences related to hiring international talent. Over 50 company representatives attended, fostering lively discussions and creating more opportunities for collaboration between academia and industry.

The Growing Need for International Talent

As industries such as information and communication technology, smart machinery, and green energy rapidly expand, the trend of market globalization is becoming more apparent, driving the increasing demand for mid- to high-level technical professionals. Northern Taiwan, a critical economic hub, accounts for 56.64% of the nation's total industrial sales, reflecting its significant potential for technological innovation and industrial transformation. Against this backdrop, the Deputy Director-General of the New Taipei City Department of Economic Development, emphasized that enterprises are not only engines of economic growth but also a representation of a city's and region's economic strength. To help enterprises stay competitive in the global market, the department actively promotes partnerships between industry and academia, as well as strategies for international talent development.

The Role of the "Talent Matching Platform"

Last year, the Department of Economic Development partnered with 24 universities in Northern Taiwan to establish the "Talent Matching Platform." This platform has become an essential bridge connecting companies with professional talent, offering support in recruitment, regulatory compliance, and understanding relevant policies. The platform facilitates two-way communication and collaboration between businesses and both local and international talent, driving industrial transformation and expanding access to global markets.

Sharing Practical Experiences

During the event, KENMEC Mechanical Engineering shared valuable insights from their experience hiring international talent. Chien Yu-ren, Director of the company’s Automation Division, shared that in response to the government’s New Southbound Policy, the company established a production base in Hanoi, Vietnam, and plans to open a branch in Bangkok, Thailand, in June. This expansion aims to better serve their customers in the Southeast Asian market. In terms of talent strategy, KENMEC not only recruits local professionals but has also hired many Southeast Asian talents in Taiwan. With support from the "Talent Matching Platform" provided by the New Taipei City Government, the company navigated the recruitment process and regulations more easily, leading to the acquisition of more outstanding talent and facilitating business growth.

Government Support and Future Opportunities

The New Taipei City Department of Economic Development noted that with the continuous development of the "Talent Matching Platform," they will host the "Global Talents Job Fair" in September. This event is tailored for companies with overseas investments or those looking to hire international talents. The conference will provide a platform for companies to find suitable international talent and connect directly with international students, student associations, and other global talents, accelerating talent development and internationalization strategies. The department stated that this is an invaluable opportunity for companies to address any questions or concerns during the live Q&A sessions, ensuring that the recruitment of international talent becomes a streamlined process.

CrossBond is dedicated to promoting various activities that support the employment of international talent in Taiwan, understanding that the skills and potential brought by these talents are crucial for industrial upgrading and international cooperation. Our mission is to help international talents, especially those from Southeast Asia and India, find suitable job opportunities in Taiwan. This not only supports their career development but also contributes to the advancement and globalization of Taiwan's industries.

We thank every company and partner who participated in this event. Your support and involvement are vital to our efforts in advancing "talent recruitment" and "industry collaboration." We look forward to partnering with more enterprises to create brighter career opportunities and foster international cooperation.
