CrossBond started our Day 2 journey at the Startup Terrace Kaohsiung on Aug 21.
At the Way South International Startup Forum, Patrick Lam, CEO of ACE, delved into startups’ role in developing smart cities. By building a community ecosystem, he emphasized how startups can bring together businesses, investors, and partners to accelerate the overall progress of smart cities. Dr. Albert Fan from TAITRA also pointed out that the post-pandemic era and the US-China trade war have led to a restructuring of supply chains. Taiwan has responded to this trend by investing heavily in sustainable smart technologies, surpassing China‘s investment in 2023. During the panel discussion, representatives from various companies highlighted that data privacy will be a significant challenge for the development of smart cities. They also stressed that cross-cultural and cross-sector collaboration will be key to future sustainable development while emphasizing the importance of localization in international expansion.
In the evening, at the Startup Linkup Networking Night, CrossBond was delighted to host friends from Taiwan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Singapore! We hope everyone got to know each other and their cultures better through self-introductions and puzzle-solving games 🙌🏻
